What is Christian Counselling?
Christian counselling is distinct from secular counselling. Christian counselling has the unique advantage of being able to approach problems holistically and biblically, based on the dimensions of God creating human beings as physical, psychological, and spiritual beings. By using biblical concepts in counselling, Christian counsellors can sometimes provide specific direction and accountability.
Psalm 119:24 says, “Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counsellors.”
Is Christian Counselling
the best fit for you?
A client may think that the use of Scripture is the only component to a session. Christian counsellors use both the disciplines of theology as well as psychology. The goals of Christian Counselling include: relief of symptoms, self-understanding, learning new skills, help in changing behaviour, resolving conflict, support and encouragement, spiritual growth and self-development.
A safe space/ confidentiality
Confidentiality is crucial to an effective and trusting counselling relationship. Without it, most counselling relationships would never begin, and those that did would be unlikely to survive.
Express in your mother tongue
Clients can express their struggles and obtain guidance in the language they understand best. Counselling is available in English, Indonesian and Mandarin.
Most of us need support from fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to nurture, strengthen, advise, rebuke and comfort, particularly during difficult times. A support group will be formed if needed and will meet regularly.
