All of us live with a certain understanding of who we ourselves are. It may be based on where we are born, what we are studying or working as, who we are associated with, or how popular or successful we think we are.
All these things are good things, and they do play a part in shaping our interests, sense of humour and fashion, even our life goals and priorities.
In Christianity we believe that we are more than this – we are defined by God. We are who we are because God made us in His image. However, the Bible also tells us that we are to wrestle with suffering because of our fall to sin. However, as Christians we still have hope, for the Bible declares that God saved us by His grace through the death & resurrection of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. In His salvation, we receive a new identity that satisfies our desires. It is an identity that will last forever.
If you want to know more about this, we invite you to come and join our retreat on the 22nd-25th of April 2022!
