The books of 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel were initially combined as one book, but in the 16th century, it was divided in a logical manner: 1 Samuel ended with Saul’s death and 2 Samuel tells us the story of the main character David. Let us now see how David became king. Did he snatch the kingdom that was promised to him using his own hands? Or did he wait patiently for the Lord until the kingdom was given to him?
